SOMATIC SEX EDUCATOR, PRACTITIONER OF THERAPEUTIC KINK, & THERAPIST IN-TRAINING
My name is Jae (pronounced "J") I am passionate about helping people reach their full erotic potential through embodiment and awareness of innate sexual energies. I believe that if we want to relate intimately to others, we must first relate intimately to ourselves. Learning to receive acceptance, love, and pleasure for ourselves is the most important step in the journey towards deeper intimacy with others. By honoring our true sexual self we honor our spiritual self. Your longest intimate relationship is the one you have with yourself. My work is always identify affirming.
I am a queer, kinky, witch and have always been aware of my "alternative" identities. Far from being merely sexual identities, these personal identities shine through in all aspects of my life. I believe strongly in relationships and community as essential for human growth and betterment. I have had the good fortune of exploring myself and others in a wide array of settings. My exploration began by examining the depths of erotic touch and intimacy but quickly developed into in-depth experiences of the physiological, emotional, psychological, and spiritual aspects of erotic interactions. I am keenly aware of the ways in which different physical sensations and touches can affect the mind, and in turn, how different psychological states can affect the body. I believe the best education is bidirectional. I have learned so much from my amazing clients. I have completed formal training as a somatic sex educator and Sexological Bodyworker, as well as 1 year of Somatic Experiencing. Currently, I am finishing a graduate program in clinical sex therapy and education (MSW/MeD) at Widener university.
My work is grounded in the Sexological Bodywork framework of erotic embodiment and informed by theories from Gestalt psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Queer theory, Feminist Theory, Narrative theory, Body Psychotherapy, Neuropsychology, Tantra, Taoism, and Sacred Sexuality. I have been heavily influenced by the work of Allan Shore, Roz Carrol, Peter A. Levine, Ruella Frank, Brene Brown, Audre Lorde, Bessel Van Der Kolk, Betty Martin, and Joseph Kramer.
